Inquiring minds want to know . . .

more about psychology in all its forms - neuroscience, cognition, personality, health, happiness and on and on! I'm developing this blog to point you, my students, to blogs of interest. And I hope that you'll comment and also suggest other pertinent blogs or websites that you have found!

To begin, check out
http://www.mindhacks.com/. Every week, these two offer a wonderful compilation of links to new research reported all over the web.

Another one that has a new post on study habits is
http://bps-research-digest.blogspot.com/ published by the British Psychological Society and also filled with new research, as well as lots of links to other online psychological information.

Finally, check out one of my faves at
http://scienceblogs.com/cortex/. Be sure to scroll down to his entry of crowds and watch the video of a recent happening. How would you have reacted to this?

I'll be waiting to see your reactions and the other sites you find!

I have bookmarked http://scienceblogs.com/cortex/. This site is very interesting. Makes for a great read during down time.

Psychology to me is highly interesting and informative. This subject never gets boring to me and I have learned a lot just by what I have read this semester . I can relate to all subject matter and find it interesting how things change and have changed. Research has helped tremendously in finding many answers to so many aspects of human life. I will be able to use this information to better my career and hopefully be able to teach things I learn and will learn to others in need. I can remember being five years old and loving to look in my Childcraft books at all things to do with the human body. The bones peeking my very first interest. I knew then I would love to work in the health field. It is truly amazing what we have discovered about the human body and mind and how they both work.

I wanted to be able to comment on the video related to "Cheap Meat" but I could not find myself to watch. I know bad things happen in the world everyday, but we sometimes and more times than often take these things for granted. It really hit me when I read the part about associating a 99 cent burger at the drive through at our favorite restaurant to this awful crime. It's a shame what this world is coming to. It seems that more and more greed is obvious.

I was also in horror when I found out this meat was distributed into the school systems without any knowledge until after the fact. Any one of our kids could have eaten this meat as well as the parents that occasionally have time to eat lunch with their kids. We definitely need more inspections of these slaughtering plants and more rules and regulations regarding who is hired and who is not to work in these facilities. I think this will make a hug impact on how things are done.
